Early in my career, being a generalist was uncommon because most people around me were proud specialists. Since around 2012, the industry has pushed us toward T-shaped talent—deep in one area, broad across many tools. The tradeoff is a market flooded with shallow knowledge, while real depth becomes harder to find.
