SuperFlex started with a simple frustration: every workout tracker I tried was either too cluttered, too slow, or built for casual gym-goers rather than serious lifters. I'd been out of the game for a decade and wanted to get back into lifting so I wanted something that would stay out of my way during a session, but give me real data when I wanted to analyze my training.
The fitness app market is super crowded...Strong and Hevy have loyal user bases, and using Apple Notes to track workouts is cumbersome. The challenge wasn't just building a good tracker. It was building one that was fast enough to use mid-set, smart enough to surface meaningful insights, and opinionated enough to actually guide training to new personal records.
Progress photos presented a particularly interesting UX problem. People take them inconsistently from different angles, different lighting, different poses, which makes side-by-side comparison nearly useless.
Solving that required a guided camera overlay that locks you into the same frame every time.

Designed and built the full iOS app natively in Swift and SwiftUI
Built a guided progress photo system with camera overlay for consistent angles across sessions
Implemented 1RM estimation using Epley and Brzycki formulas
Developed volume-per-muscle-group tracking
Designed and coded an Apple Watch companion app for in-session logging
Architected a privacy-first data model. Workouts and photos stay on-device.
Designed the branding and built the marketing site at superflex.fit.

Tap your weight, tap your reps, done. SuperFlex auto-suggests your last session's numbers so you pick up exactly where you left off.
A guided camera overlay locks in a consistent angle every time. Compare any two dates side by side or in Ghost Mode.
Track total volume per muscle group, estimated 1RM trends, and session-over-session performance. Spot plateaus before they stall your progress.
Build custom splits from scratch or start with proven templates for PPL, Upper/Lower, and full-body. Edit any routine mid-session without losing your place.
SuperFlex is a native iOS app built with Swift and SwiftUI.
Workout data and progress photos live on-device using SwiftData, with Apple HealthKit as an opt-in. The Apple Watch companion syncs in the background via WatchConnectivity, so it's never on the critical path of logging a set.
The marketing site at superflex.fit is built with Next.js and Tailwind CSS, deployed on Vercel.
Native iOS in Swift + SwiftUI
SwiftData for on-device persistence
WatchOS companion for in-session rep and weight logging
Epley & Brzycki 1RM estimation algorithms with trend visualization

Marketing site: Next.js + Tailwind CSS on Vercel
Optimistic UI updates
Historical data lazy-loaded so the app stays snappy regardless of training history length
Progress photo comparisons rendered entirely on-device with no server round trip
Watch app syncs in the background via WatchConnectivity
Privacy-first by default
