Driven to Create is a labor of love.

For years, I wanted to create a podcast or Youtube channel that focused solely on the act of creating. Software agnostic...Skill agnostic.

Sometimes I interview other creatives in fields such as cinematography, motion design, or music, but I am open to speaking with all walks of life as long as they have one attribute...creativity.

Man enthusiastically expressing eagerness to sign up, wearing a flamingo-patterned shirt.
Person talking about art techniques with 'learn how to draw' text graphic.
Confident man with glasses in a green shirt, illuminated by a blue light in a modern setting.
Man speaking with a serious expression, text overlay: 'YOU CAN HAVE AN' in a creative setting.

The Brand

When I was first brainstorming the idea of the podcast, I had just re-created my personal portfolio website. I wanted to draw on my roots a bit, so I dove into classic Italian advertising and typesetting.

Montecatini Pro Stretto and Dharma Gothic E Bold typefaces showcased for design use.

For my portfolio, I sampled colors from a variety of ads until I felt like I had a cohesive color palette.

Color palette with five colors: Azzurro, Rosso, Arancia, Nero, and Bianco with corresponding hex codes.

With the podcast, I wanted to differentiate the styling, but still be reminiscent of my personal brand. I tweaked the orange from the main color palette and created a more subdued branding for the podcast.

Color palette featuring Ginepro, Giada, Bianco, Zucca, and Ardesia with hex codes.

The Visuals

The goal for the episode artwork in Season 1 was to center around the theme of a lightbulb and explore the different environments that I could put them in.

I chose to generate the background images in Midjourney and Black Forest Labs Flux.1 Dev model. After they were generated and upscaled, I brought them in to Adobe Photoshop for additional tweaks and cleanup.

My emphasis on creating a streamlined process for the artwork was a result of my goal for letting nothing get in the way of me producing more episodes.

A glowing light bulb filled with colorful plants in a natural setting.
A light bulb emitting a warm glow in a surreal landscape with clouds and sculptures.
An illuminated light bulb hovering over a rocky surface with a mountain backdrop.

For more general assets, I create them using an amalgamation of Cinema 4D, AI Generative Image Models, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
